In 1978 the Boston Redsox and New York Yankees tied in the Division lead at the end of the season with an unprecedented 99-63 record. They would have to have a 1-game playoff at Fenway for the division title. The Redsox had won home field off of a coin flip. That game the Yankees had been held to just 2 hits through 6 innings until the 7th inning. The Yankees were down 2-0 in the 7th inning when Bucky Dent came up to bat with runners on 1st and 2nd. Bucky Dent had only hit 4 home runs all season when he hit an improbable 3 run Home Run over the green monster to give the Yankees a 3-2 lead. The Yankees would hold on to win the game 5-4 and Bucky Dent would adopt the nickname of Bucky "#*$!*?#" Dent.
